Key laws and policies
Belarus has legislation (Law No. 341-3 of 7 January 2012 on Assisted Reproductive Technologies), guidelines, and a licensing body governing assisted reproduction.
Permitted and regulated practices
- Anonymous and non-anonymous gamete donation
- Egg donors aged 18-35
- Egg donors must have already borne a child
- Embryo donation permitted
- Gestational surrogacy permitted
- Contract should include payment for reimbursement of medical expenses, meals, lodging of surrogate mother during gestation, childbirth, and the postnatal period. (Although, completely altruistic surrogacy may also occur between relatives.)
